Actually He in the same gospel of Mark called Himself the Son of God in Mark 13:32, the Son of Man is also a reference to Daniel 7:9-13 where the Son of Man is brought before the ancient of days and all nations are commanded by God to worship and serve Him. So even the designation "Son of Man" is divine, which is why they charged Him with blasphemy after He said He will come on the clouds as the Son of Man. In Matthew He says no one knows the Father except the Son and no one knows the Son except the Father thus clearly identifying Himself as the Son of God.
Jesus literally said "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" and He commanded His disciples to spread His message everywhere (Matthew 28:19)
Jesus in John 5 says He is the final judge on the day of judgment and that people should honour Him just as they honour God. If that is not demanding worship I don't know what else is. In the synoptics the disciples also worship Him as the Son of God.
The whole deal actually was "the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the gospel", the gospel what the whole deal. Jesus Himself warned that those who do not believe in Him will perish and He also taught that His death and resurrection was for the remission of sins (Luke 24:44-49) which is exactly the same gospel Paul taught.
Paul in Galatians 2 also lets us know he fact checked the gospel with Peter (as evidenced in Peter's Sermons in Acts as well as his first epistle) and the other apostles. in 1Cor 15:11 Paul confirmed all the apostles including himself were preaching the same message.
Again Tanner, I have no problem with you bashing Christianity, all I ask is for regard for truth that's all.
