Allah cannot destroy Jesus if he wanted to
Allah declares in the Quran,
“They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, “Then who could prevent Allah at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?” And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.”
(Surah 5:17)
Allah says he could destroy Jesus if he wanted to, but there is a massive problem with this statement. In another place, the same Allah says,
“O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him.”
(Surah 4:171)
Jesus happens to be the word of Allah and not just the word of Allah, the spirit of Allah as well! How in the world can Allah destroy his own word and his spirit? Is Allah suicidal? Or is Allah himself capable of destruction? I thought the word of Allah was eternal? How would Allah destroy his own spirit?
It would appear this is a bluff from Allah. But there is yet another striking evidence that Allah is just bluffing here. Consider this;
“Abu Ayyub Ansari reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
If you were not to commit sins, Allah would have swept you out of existence and would have replaced you by another people who have committed sin, and then asked forgiveness from Allah, and He would have granted them pardon.”
(Sahih Muslim, Book 50 Hadith 12)
So Allah wants us to sin and if we did not sin, Allah would have wiped us off the face of the earth. But this is where Allah exposes himself. Jesus according to the Quran and the hadith had no sin. Jesus committed no sin in Islam as it is written,
“He said: “Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.”
(Surah 19:19)
If Allah would wipe us out if we committed no sin and Jesus as a man committed no sin, why does Allah never wipe Jesus out of the earth like he says?
Because Allah is bluffing. He is full of crap. He cannot do anything to Jesus and if Allah cannot do anything to Jesus, he cannot do anything to followers of Jesus. His followers might kill the body but they cannot kill the soul, so if you are on the fence tottering between following Christ and following Allah, whose god is Muhammad, I suggest you join the party of the untouchable Jesus Christ.
