I think trinity is fundamental because it has to do with the nature of God. John writes in one of his epistles, he who does not have the Son does not have the Father also so failing to recognise the trinitarian dynamic of God results in having a different God altogether.

I will be interested in understanding how you makes sense of God as an absolute unity based on OT scriptures. For example God using the plural "us" when creating in Genesis when the entirety of scriptures particularly Isaiah says GOD ALONE created human beings.

Happy to have a dialogue on this if you are chanced.
