My friend that is very wrong,

The state prevents people from marrying people who are already married. Some states prevent marriage to first cousins. If two brothers love each other and want to get married, is that a union you endorse? So you see no one has any unfettered right to "choose who to be with and love".

Jesus' love is a self sacrificial love not a romantic one. "love" as we define it does not make things okay. Love is not for instance, an excuse to commit adultery or paedophilia or incest. So why should love be the basis of violating scripture and engaging in same sex relations? The Bible includes no such qualification to the sinfulness of homosexuality.

Finally I don't liken homosexuality to rape. I like the fact that Jesus was silent about both and if we are going to say one is okay based on that, we have no basis for saying the other is not....unless you introduce other elements than Jesus' silence to justify why rape is not...then you admit Jesus silence alone is not a good basis for endorsing things.
