Really not downplaying your experience or life story but just observing that none of this has any bearing on whether Christianity or the gospel is true.

If Hell is a real place and there is really judgment from God coming upon the world including you and me for sin and Jesus is in fact the way of salvation from that sin, the fact we feel or have felt some kind of way about it in the past is besides the point.
