Thank you for your engagement.
First, we are looking at the authenticity of the miracles of Abdullah Hashem. People claim they saw him do all these mighty deeds so how do we evaluate their testimony? From the outside looking in, we have observed only his loyal followers are reporting these great miracles of his, why is nobody outside his circle of influence attesting to them? If only followers of Jesus said he did miracles or testified he rose from the dead, that will be ground to seriously doubt the supernatural claims concerning him. But we have Paul and James attesting to this as well.
Again, we are not here concerned with the truth of Abdullah's message but the truth of his alleged miracles. So prophets being opposed has nothing to do with the issue I am addressing.
If hostile and enemy sources agree with your claim, it makes the case for them stronger. We have no such sources for Abdullah so the case for his miracles are weak as it stands.
Secondly, my point was not whether or not people will stay firm to what they believe under trial. People could genuinely and seriously believe in a false message and endure torture and persecution for it but nobody would WILLINGLY and KNOWINGLY die for a lie. My point was once again those who claim to have witnessed the MIRACLES of Abdullah.
I would like to see those people testifying about the miracles of Abdullah thoroughly Cross examined and challenged to being forth their evidence (particularly the ones that witnessed his raise some one from the dead and split the moon). These people making miracle claims have not been put in a situation where their lives are in jeopardy because of their miracle claims. Until we see them doing so the case is weak.
Finally, if the standard of truth is divine, then is any of what you have just told me true? Is what you told me divinely backed? And if it is not, by your own standard it is false. Ignoring all that however, truth has to be OBJECTIVELY verifiable and until we verifiably test those miracle claims, we cannot deem them true.
I am however curious.
- what makes Muhammad a messenger of God?
- Where is the will that mentions Abdullah Hashem?
- What age old theological dilemma has he solved?
