70 Christians were found beheaded in DR Congo. The beheadings were done by ISIS linked militia in the region.

The irony about this is that I was watching “The 21” on YouTube some days ago. The video was an animated retelling of the story of 21 Coptic Christians who roughly a decade ago were tortured and then beheaded by ISIS for refusal to recant their faith in Jesus Christ. It was generally a well-done video save for the last comment where it said “the act [of the beheading] was condemned by Christians and Muslims alike”. The question to my mind was,

What exactly did ISIS do to “the 21” and the 70 Christians in Congo that is un-Islamic? On what grounds and for what exactly can Muslims condemn ISIS?

A few days later, we saw an African branch of ISIS doing the exact same thing in DR Congo. My question in response to the last comment in “The 21” is the crux of this article.

Could you condemn them for killing Christians?

The Quran says,

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture — [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah “; and the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?”

(Surah 9:29–30)

This is an express command to fight Christians and Jews based on what they believe!

Just to remove any ambiguity around the command to “fight”, the Arabic is literally to “Fight to kill”. The same Surah 9 clarifies what is being asked of those who take Islam seriously,

Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are killed.”

(Surah 9:111)

So can ISIS be condemned for killing Christians based on Islam? No!

Could ISIS be condemned for beheading?

Muhammad himself beheaded about 600 Jews in a single day.

According to Muslim historian Tabari,

“The messenger of God went out into the marketplace of Medina and had trenches dug in it; then he sent for them and had them beheaded in those trenches. They were brought out to him in groups. Among them were the enemy of God, Huyayy b. Akhtab, and Ka’b b. Asad, the head of the tribe. They numbered 600 or 700 — the largest estimate says they were between 800 and 900. As they were being taken in groups to the Messenger of God, they said to Ka’b b. Asad, “Ka’b, what do you understand. Do you not see that the summoner does not discharge [anyone] and that those of you who are taken away do not come back? By God, it is death!” the affair continued until the Messenger of God had finished with them”

(Victory of Islam, Vol 8 Pg 35–36)

Ibn Kathir in his commentary of Surah 33:26 tells us,

“…Then the Messenger of Allah commanded that ditches should be dug, so they were dug in the earth, and they were brought tied by their shoulders, and were beheaded. There were between seven hundred and eight hundred of them. The children who had not yet reached adolescence and the women were taken prisoner, and their wealth was seized. All of this is stated both briefly and in detail, with evidence and Hadiths, in the book of Sirah which we have written, praise and blessings be to Allah…”

There are also hadiths on the standards Muhammad used to distinguish between adults and children when he was beheading the men,

Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi:

I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.”

(Sunan Abi Dawud Book 40 Hadith 54)

The prophet even acquiesed to the beheading of women,

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:

No woman of Banu Qurayzah was killed except one. She was with me, talking and laughing on her back and belly (extremely), while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was killing her people with the swords. Suddenly a man called her name: Where is so-and-so? She said: I asked: What is the matter with you? She said: I did a new act. She said: The man took her and beheaded her. She said: I will not forget that she was laughing extremely although she knew that she would be killed.

(Sunan Abi Dawud Book 15 Hadith 195)

So can ISIS be condemned for beheading? No!

So what can ISIS be condemned for according to Islam? Absolutely nothing!

And this is the point of this article. Whenever you hear news of Christians being killed whether by ISIS in Congo, Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria or ISIS in Iraq, know that this is not a weird, fringe or “radical” interpretation of the Islamic texts. It is true Islam, pure and simple. These are the carrying out of commands issued by Allah in the Quran and following of the perfect pattern of conduct (Surah 33:21) laid down by Muhammad, Islam’s final and greatest prophet.

Mohammed is ISIS, Islam is ISIS…

My deepest condolences to the families of those Christians. We know the Christians themselves are with Jesus Christ as we speak and we as Christians have no doubt Jesus Christ Himself will personally avenge every single Christian that has been slaughtered by the followers of Muhammad.

In the mean time, we will continue to expose Muhammad and his evil religion…
