Very fair points,

(1) Jesus Himself said to who much is given, much is expected. At 26, he has a humungus intellect and let us not forget he has been talking about these things for close to a decade now. My frustration with him is that he is too intelligent to say some of the stupid things he keeps on saying. If your bog-standard Medium new atheist who is just mad at God was saying those things, understandable. But an intelligent well read guy like Alex? That's another matter.

A related point to the above is that Alex positions himself as a seeker of truth who is not necessarily hostile to Christianity but is just investigating it objectively and has some problems with some things it teaches. Personally I think that is nonsense. From the things he says and how he says them, I think he is no different from your standard new atheist. I think Dawkins is an ignoramus but I respect the heck out of the fact he is openly hostile to Christianity. I would rather Alex is more brazen about his bias than mask it beneath an air of objective inquiry.

(2) I see where you are coming from but that is not necessarily my point. My issue with Alex is he claims part of his issue with Christianity is the misogyny and slavery it endorses. What I am saying is if Alex is willing to criticise it to the high heavens when it is present in one religion and then there is complete radio silence when those same things are present (and are explicit commands for today) in another religion, it really starts to look like he does not have as much of an issue with those topics themselves and he is just using them as polemics against Christianity.

I completely take your point but beneath the very gentlemanly demeanour and posh British accent, I deem Alex very deceptive and hypocritical. The Lord Jesus had no patience for hypocrites.

But I admit there are times I watch the guy and think, am I being too hard on him? But most times I think my stance is very much justified.

Completely open to the fact I might be very wrong about the guy especially because everybody who meets him in person has nothing but good things to say.

Appreciate the engagement
