My two pushbacks would be why do you say He is not up to the job? The Bible records God judging the world for evil, for example in Noah's day and Sodom/Gomorrah, interestingly atheists see that and say God is wicked! So when God judges He is evil and when He doesn't He is not up to the job? And how does it logically follow that God does not exist because evil exists in the world?

And on why you should care, everyone will stand before God my friend. Everybody will give account of the life they lived. I think that is a pretty big deal given your eternal fate is at stake based on what you have done with Jesus Christ, God's final offer of peace and reconciliation with Him. If there is a slight chance that there is actual eternal judgement, then the existence of God is a serious matter.
