Why Allah is worse than prosperity preachers
“If you donate $1,000 to me right now, that will be a seed which God will bless! You will receive a hundred fold in this life!”, this is the “prosperity gospel” of the rich, private jet flying (alleged) men of God which has rightly attracted criticism from various quarters, Christian and non-Christian alike. What if I told you that Allah in his Quran preached something even far worse than that? But this will be the main event of the article, so hang tight…
Prosperity preachers want you to give them money and in exchange God blesses you. Allah on the other hand promised his followers prosperity through something very different,
“…And if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-knowing, All-wise”
(Surah 9:28)
So Allah promises wealth to his followers so they need not fear poverty. What is the context of this promise? The above verse began with,
“O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque…”
So the pagans were not allowed to come near the sacred mosque. Issue with this is that the pagans were bringing trade with them whenever they visited so how would the Islamic economy thrive without this trade and commerce? Allah tells his followers not to worry, he has a plan. Let’s hear your plan Allah, the next verse says,
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
(Surah 9:29)
So this verse was not necessarily about religion or theology. It was about MONEY! Allah gives money to his followers by commanding them to fight the people of the book and then make them (people of the book) pay Jizyah (tribute money) to his followers. If this was something to do with religion, why would somebody be given a free pass to continue to not follow Allah because they have paid some moneyto Muslims?
As Eastern Roman Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos (1350–1425) succinctly put it,
“…if being a non-Muslim is so bad, why should money, jizya, allow one to “buy the opportunity to lead an impious life?”
Not only that, for ten years Muhammad preached theology, one God et cetera and he had only a hundred followers — which is encouraging because I have been on medium 5 years and have almost 3 times as many followers as Muhammad in half the time…I digress — but the minute the message changed to,
“So let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And he who fights in the cause of Allah and is killed or achieves victory — We will bestow upon him a great reward.”
(Surah 4:74)
Translation? If you go and fight and win, you get booty, if you die in battle, you spend an eternity deflowering virgins in the paradise of Allah (see for example, Tafsir Al-Jalalayn on Surah 36:55) so it is a win-win. Surprise surprise Islam, a religion that plays up to the desires of 7th century desert dwellers to have sex and raid neighbouring towns and cities for money, exploded almost immediately. Miraculous that isn’t it?
At least prosperity preachers are not telling you God will enrich you by permitting you to raid your neighbours and take their stuff!
Not only that, Allah also claims he is able to multiply your money if you give him a loan!
“Who is he that will loan to Allah a beautiful loan, which Allah will double unto his credit and multiply many times? It is Allah that giveth (you) Want or plenty, and to Him shall be your return.”
(Surah 2:245)
Why is Allah begging for money here? If he is almighty surely, he should be able to just give money without being loaned to? Why does he need money at all? Is there a bazaar up in heaven? Does he need to pay off his mortgage? What is happening here? Does this in any way sound like the creator of the universe to you?
Compare this with the God of the Bible who says,
“ ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
(Haggai 2:8)
And again,
“For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.”
(Psalm 50:11–12)
Interestingly, a Jewish rabbi (who would have subscribed to the Hebrew scriptures’ perception of God as cited in the two verses above) during the time of Muhammad named Finhas picked up on this problem. The Asbab Al-Nuzul (Reason for revelation) behind Surah 3:181 tells us,
“…one day, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq entered a Jewish place of study and found a group of Jewish people gathered around one of them called Finhas ibn ‘Azura, who was one of their doctors. Abu Bakr said to Finhas: “Fear Allah and embrace Islam, for by Allah you know well that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah who has brought the truth to you from Allah. He is mentioned in your Torah; so believe and accept the truth and grant Allah a goodly offering and He will make you enter the Garden and multiply your reward”. Finhas responded: “O Abu Bakr, you claim that our Lord is asking us to lend Him our wealth. Yet, it is only the poor who borrow from the rich. And if what you say is true, it follows that Allah is poor and we are rich, for if He were rich He would not ask us to lend Him our wealth”.
Thankfully Abubakr had a very logical, well thought out and coherent response to the argument of the learned Rabbi,
“Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be well pleased with him, became very angry and struck the face of Finhas with a mighty blow. He then said to him: “By Him in whose Hand is my soul, if it were not for the treaty between us, O enemy of Allah, I would have killed you”.
And these are the exact same logical arguments we get from our Muslim friends today when we question or criticize Islamic ideas. Violence and death threats! Such a beautiful religion — Alhamdulilah!
Now so far and on this request for a loan, Allah has been on par with prosperity preachers. But this is the main event…Allah takes it one step further,
“If you lend to Allah a goodly loan, He will double it for you, and will forgive you. And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward”
(Surah 64:17)
Allah PROMISES TO FORGIVE YOU YOUR SINS IF YOU GIVE HIM MONEY! Now if this is not ten tiers worse than any prosperity preacher on the planet, I do not know what is. Even Creflo Dollar and Kenneth Copeland have never preached that God will forgive you your sins if you give Him money. Allah on the other hand is so broke that he will open the doors of heaven for you if you give him money!
And note how Allah is very appreciative of your loan. Again, does this sound like the creator of the universe to you?
Now note this money for forgiveness transaction is the biggest scam on earth. Why? Because Allah says over and over again that he forgives only who he wants to forgive,
“…He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills…”
(Surah 48:14)
And again,
“ And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills”
(Surah 3:129)
One second ago, Allah badly needs a loan so he can forgive your sins, a second after, he owns the heavens and the earth and will forgive only those he wills. Which is it? Is Allah broke or rich? Is forgiveness up to Allah alone or can Allah be swayed by the size of your wallet?
It gets more complicated as well because Allah says,
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.”
(Surah 4:116)
This leads to the question, “How broke does Allah have to become in order to forgive the sin of association (i.e. worshipping anything else in conjunction with Allah)”? If you commit this sin and you give Allah a good loan, can he still forgive you after doubling your money?
So Allah is worse than prosperity preachers in that his prosperity plan for his followers (Muslims) is for them to fight other people and afterwards make them pay over their hard earned money to the Muslims under threat of death. Allah is worse than prosperity preachers in that he himself keeps asking for a loan which he will multiply and give back. Allah is worse than prosperity preachers in that he says he will forgive you your sins if you give him money. I cannot stress that third reason enough!
Now ask yourself, how do you give Allah money? By giving it to Muhammad! Awfully convenient isn’t it?
Point is Islam is one big joke. Allah does not exist, he is just the sock puppet of Muhammad who used him to manipulate all his followers to give him anything he wanted from money to war booty to their nine year old daughters for marriage and sex. Islam has no arguments hence the constant resort to violence and death threats like Abubakr did to Finhas the rabbi.
Why in the name of all things bright and beautiful, with the advent of the internet, will anybody in their right mind continue to follow this absolute joke of a religion?
