Why Sharia Councils in the UK should be utterly unacceptable.
85 Islamic councils are in the United Kingdom according to the Times. I honestly do not see the logic of allowing Sharia councils in the UK for this one simple reason I have stressed in a thousand different ways in a hundred thousand different articles but I repeat it yet again;
SHARIA LAW IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH UK LAW. SHARIA IS NOT A SYSTEM THAT SUBSUMES ITSELF INTO ANOTHER WIDER LEGAL SYSTEM, IT IS RATHER A SUPREME LEGAL SYSTEM IN ITSELF, SANCTIONED BY ALLAH, THAT SEEKS TO SUBJUGATE AND SUBSUME EVERY OTHER SYSTEM UNDER IT.
This is not just my opinion, this is basic Islamic jurisprudence. Consider what Allah says in the Quran,
“It is God Who sent His Messenger with guidance and a true religion that will prevail over all other religions, even though the pagans may dislike it.”
(Surah 9:33)
Interpretation? Sharia is designed to prevail over any other system in place even if non-Muslims do not like it! Why in the world is the UK allowing a council that operates under a law that deems itself superior to its own laws within it? Why does the UK let a council that clearly despises its laws exercise any jurisdiction at all (formal or informal) within it?
This is the system instituted by a supreme deity who said,
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”
(Surah 9:29)
This deity orders his system to subjugate any system that contradicts it! Now surprise surprise, these Sharia councils have apps that let men input the number of wives they have with options 1–4 when UK law criminalizes marrying more than one wife at a time. They also have “Islamic Inheritance” calculators which give males double the portion of females (according to Surah 4:11–12, 176) when UK law says people should not be discriminated against on the ground of sex. Of course they do not give a crap about UK law! Allah himself has spoken in the Sharia, who is Keir Starmer or any “Kuffar” (Non-Muslim) authority to tell the Muslim what to do or how to behave?
Of course Muslim women cannot sue for divorce in a Sharia court and are trapped in their Islamic marriages which is an illegal state of affairs under UK law. Of course men beat their wives in Islamic marriages as authorized by the Quran in Surah 4:34 and the hadith which says a man should not be questioned as to why he beat his wife (which was cited verbatim by one of the founders of the Sharia council in the UK Haitham Al-Haddad, a guy who visited the Taliban after they took Afghanistan by the way!), what does the UK expect?
Sharia is here to force you to prohibit what it prohibits (e.g. women walking about without their heads covered) and to follow the religion of truth (e.g. like when it tells you it is fine to marry, have intercourse with and divorce kids like it says in Surah 65:4 and like Muhammad did with Aisha), not the other way round. A Sharia court follows the law of Allah, not the law of the Kuffar! Did you not read Surah 9:29 cited earlier?
Now this is to respond to one of the very ignorant panellists in GB News who when reacting to this development said “This is a tricky situation. What about the Jewish courts then? Do we dissolve them too?”.
There are few things more nauseating than false equivalency where in order to bow the knee to Islam or to not appear like Islam is being specifically targeted, we engage in “Whataboutism” or apportion some sort of blame to both side of an issue Islam is involved in. So “Hamas and the IDF are equally terrorists!” Arrest warrants were issued for “Yahya Sinwar and Benjamin Netanyahu!” “Every religion has its extremists!” These are just very stupid things to do and say. Why are we pretending that we are not aware Islam is in a class of its own? I mean there is a reason why at least 57 out of 80 proscribed terrorist organisations in the UK are related to Islam! There is a reason why “Halleluyah” or “Baruch Atta Adonai” and “Allahu Akbar!” evoke very different feelings and vibes, there is a reason why according to the UK government report on Prevent, 80% of open cases with counter-terrorism police have to do with Islam! Contrary to the very hare-brained comments by Keir Starmer to the effect that Islam has made UK a better place, Islam is a very huge problem! And it has brought that problem to the shores of Europe.
But I digress, what about the Jewish courts? Well, what about them Mrs GB News panellist? There is one very key difference here.
In Judaism, there is the concept of actively seeking the prosperity of a foreign land where you are sojourning as a stranger. During the Babylonian captivity, God says to Israel,
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:
Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit. Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters — that you may be increased there, and not diminished.
And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
(Jeremiah 29:5–7)
The idea of integration is embedded into this instruction. Translation? “Hey, you are in a foreign land. Settle there, build your life there and seek the peace of this place! If this place you are in is in peace, you will be in peace”.
Western civilization, remember, is based on “Judeo-Christian” values. Christianity which is the core of western civilization (according to religious and non-religious historians alike) is an offshoot of Judaism, the word “Christ” (Mashiach in Hebrew) is itself a Jewish term. Point here is it is difficult to imagine a Jewish court enforcing a law that contradicts UK law or promoting values that undermine UK Law or Western civilization. Little wonder until the GB News panellist mentioned it five seconds ago, we were not even aware they existed!
Islam on the other hand opposes the very idea of a non-Muslim ruling over Muslims. Remember Muslims are the best of peoples (Surah 3:110) while Non-Muslims are the absolute worst of creatures (Surah 98:6). To integrate into a Non-Muslim society is to be a traitor,
“O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.”
(Surah 5:51)
I produce, for your reading pleasure, a couple of tafsirs (Exegesis of the scholars) on what Sharia demands of Muslims in a society,
“The … reason why Jihad should be waged against them is they did not adopt the Law sent down by Allah through His Messenger.
This is the aim of Jihad with the Jews and the Christians and it is not to force them to become Muslims and adopt the `Islamic Way of Life.’ They should be forced to pay Jizyah in order to put an end to their independence and supremacy so that they should not remain rulers and sovereigns in the land. These powers should be wrested from them by the followers of the true Faith, who should assume the sovereignty and lead others towards the Right Way, while they should become their subjects and pay jizyah.
Jizyah is paid by those non-Muslims who live as Zimmis (proteges) in an Islamic State, in exchange for the security and protection granted to them by it. This is also symbolical of the fact that they themselves agree to live in it as its subjects. This is the significance of “….. they Pay jizyah with their own hands,” that is, “with full consent so that they willingly become the subjects of the Believers, who perform the duty of the vicegerents of Allah on the earth.”

“Now let us try to understand the significance of this verse. The object of the Mission of the Messenger is to make the Guidance and the Right Way he has brought from Allah dominant over all the other ways and systems of life. In other words, the Messenger is not sent to allow Allah’s Way to remain subordinate to other ways in order to enjoy concessions from them. He is sent by the Sovereign of the earth and the heavens to make His Way dominant over all other ways.”
(Imam Maududi on Surah 9:33)
“…(and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush), do not wait until you find them. Rather, seek and besiege them in their areas and forts, gather intelligence about them in the various roads and fairways so that what is made wide looks ever smaller to them. This way, they will have no choice, but to die or embrace Islam,فَإِن تَابُواْ وَأَقَامُواْ الصَّلَوةَ وَءاتَوُاْ الزَّكَوةَ فَخَلُّواْ سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ(But if they repent and perform the Salah, and give the Zakah, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) Abu Bakr As-Siddiq used this and other honorable Ayat as proof for fighting those who refrained from paying the Zakah. These Ayat allowed fighting people unless, and until, they embrace Islam and implement its rulings and obligations.”
(Ibn Kathir on Surah 9:5)
Furthermore Allah in the Quran urges Muslims to,
“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah…”
(Surah 8:39)
This is nothing other than a furtherance of the agenda of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, who declared,
“Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.”
(Sahih Bukhari Book 8 Hadith 44)
A religious war is mandated upon Muslims on Non-Muslims, including the UK, until all of religion (Including religion in the UK) is for Allah! In such a UK, adherents of every other religion would either be unalived or subjugated. Allowing Shariah councils in the UK is a very stupid concession because it is giving those who take this command seriously an avenue to undermine UK laws in favor of those mandated by Allah.
This is why the correct number of Sharia councils in the UK should be zero. This is why Sharia councils in the UK should be unacceptable. It is utter stupidity to allow councils that absolutely despise UK laws to have any sort of influence over members of the population who follow an ideology that abhors UK laws. The proliferation of these councils is a recipe for absolute disaster given what the primary sources of Sharia law teach!
