Why “World Hijab day” is a crime against humanity

The reason for the hijab is not modesty but rather safety. The Quran tells us why women must wear the hijab,

O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested.”

(Surah 33:59)

What does this passage imply?

A woman not wearing the hijab is fair game to be molested. Are these my own thoughts? Or do the Muslim commentaries agree with me?

Ibn Kathir exegetes this verse,

Here Allah tells His Messenger to command the believing women — especially his wives and daughters, because of their position of honor — to draw their Jilbabs over their bodies, so that they will be distinct in their appearance from the women of the Jahiliyyah and from slave women

(That will be better that they should be known so as not to be annoyed. ) means, if they do that, it will be known that they are free, and that they are not servants or whores.

According to Tafsir Ibn Abbas,

“(O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them) to cover their necks and bosoms ((when they go abroad). That will be better, that so they may be recognised) as free women (and not annoyed) and not be harmed by the fornicators.

According to Al-Jalalayn,

O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks closely over themselves (jalābīb is the plural of jilbāb, which is a wrap that covers a woman totally) — in other words, let them pull part of it [also] over their faces, leaving one eye [visible], when they need to leave [the house] for something. That makes it likelier that they will be known, to be free women, and not be molested, by being approached. In contrast, slavegirls did not use to cover their faces and so the disbelievers used to pester them.”

Ah, turns out the verse actually means what it says and my interpretation is on the same page as the biggest scholars of Islam. The hijab is a status symbol. It distinguishes the slave woman from the free woman and the Muslim woman from the Non-Muslim woman. The hijab is also a message to people as to who they should and should not be molesting.

Note Ibn Kathir says a woman who does not wear the hijab is either a slave or a whore! And you know what those two have in common in Islam…

We have heard testimonies from grooming gang survivors that they were explicitly told the way they dressed was an indication that they wanted to be banged, even though they were kids at the time! We have also heard from people who work in refugee camps with people from Muslim countries as to how the boys tend to touch the women who are not wearing the hijab. The message of the hijab as per the Quran is that a woman not wearing hijab is asking to be molested!

No bigger a scholar than Zakir Naik has very recently confirmed this in a YouTube video where he stated that a woman who is not dressed according to the Islamic standard and is raped is at fault. In his exact words,

Let me explain to you that Allah has given guidelines to the woman that they should dress up modestly, they should cover the complete body except those parts that can be seen that is the face. Now if after giving all these guidance and hypothetically if that girl doesn’t dress up modestly she is dressed up immorally which makes people get excited and the rape is done who is to blame?

That doesn’t mean that the boy has the right to rape but besides the boy who committed the rape…it is the girl who also has to follow the guidelines of the Quran if she wears clothes because of which the rape took place, she is responsible…

So applauding the hijab is applauding slavery of women (of the sexual kind in Surah 4:24, 23:5–6 and 7-:30) and championing rape of fellow women in Muslim countries around the world.

The original message of the hijab is “do not molest me! Molest those other women who are not wearing the hijab!”

This is what you support when you celebrate world hijab day.

Remember, particularly you westerners who get excited by any old thing which is not of European origin, that in Muslim countries, most notably Iran, women are jailed and sentenced to death for not wearing the hijab. It is not just another optional fashion accessory to Make non-Arab women look “exotic”, it is a symbol of oppression of women.

Now go ahead and have a fantastic world hijab day!
